Breath of the Wild DLC Pack 1 Detailed

Nintendo has just announced the details of the first Pack included of the Expansion Pack in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

First up is the “Trial of the Sword”, where you take on room after room of challenges starting off without any weapons or equipment. If you manage to defeat all 45 rooms in succession, the true power of the Master Sword will awaken. From then on out it will always be in its powered up glowing state.

Next up is the new map feature for the game, which is actually pretty neat. It allows you to trace the path you took of the last 200 hours of gameplay. This will also work retroactively, allowing you to see what you have done right away after you have installed the DLC pack. With this feature you will be more easily able to analyze the places you have already been to and will therefore let you find the last missing shrines, korok seeds and other secrets more easily.

Next up is the unexpected announcement of the Travel Medallion, which will allow you to place a single dynamic fast travel point anywhere in the world you may desire.

The most desired addition however would be the new hard mode of the game. Enemies will now regain health automatically “Call of Duty” style, which means you have to kill them quickly to win. Enemies will also be replaced by their equivalent next tier, meaning where there was a Red Bokoblin before there will now be a Blue Bokoblin and so forth. Furthermore there will now be enemies residing on floating platforms in the air, the point of this is still unclear to us at this point though.

Last but not least, Nintendo has added a couple of costumes and masks to the game including Majora’s Mask, Midna’s Helmet, the Phantom Armor and Tingle’s Outfit. A very desired new addition would be the Korok Mask though, which will help you find the Korok seeds that you have yet to find.

The exact release date for this DLC pack is still unknown, so please stay tuned for more information. On the positive side, another update for the game has just been released today, allowing you to swap the Voice Acting of the game between all available languages, which has been a much requested feature by many people.

All in all there are some very nice additions to the game here, which will definitely enhance the experience. However, few of these additions seem to be really worth paying extra money for considering these additions are mostly QOL and cosmetic changes. What do you think? Are these features worth paying the $19.99 for or are you holding out for the story DLC that is to come during Holiday this year? Let us know in the comment section below!
